Powder coating, a dry finishing process that gained traction in North America in the 1960s, has become a cornerstone of industrial finishing, encompassing over 15% of the total market. Its popularity stems from the ability to provide high-quality, durable finishes with numerous advantages, including enhanced production efficiency and simplified environmental compliance. This versatile technique is employed for both functional (protective) and decorative purposes, offering a vast spectrum of colors and textures.
At the heart of powder coating are polymer resin systems blended with curatives, pigments, leveling agents, flow modifiers, and other additives. These ingredients undergo a meticulous process, transformed into a uniform powder resembling baking flour. The application utilizes electrostatic spray deposition (ESD), where a spray gun imparts an electrostatic charge to powder particles, attracting them to the grounded metal substrate. As the coated parts enter a curing oven, heat triggers a chemical reaction, forming robust molecular chains with high cross-link density—resistant to breakdown. This process is the predominant method, although fluidized bed application is employed for non-metallic substrates like plastics and medium density fiberboard (MDF).
Powder coatings shine not only in performance but also in environmental considerations. Easy application, reduced waste, and minimal volatile organic compounds (VOCs) contribute to their eco-friendly reputation. The cost-effectiveness of powder coating further enhances its appeal, making it a preferred choice across diverse applications.
Powder coating stands as a testament to durability, safeguarding everything from rugged machinery to everyday household items. Its finish surpasses liquid paints in resilience, offering robust protection against impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and extreme weather conditions. This resilience translates into reduced risks of scratches, chipping, abrasions, corrosion, and fading.
The automotive industry has witnessed a transformation through powder coating, replacing antiquated painting processes. Car parts coated with powder demonstrate enhanced resilience, contributing to more efficient and durable car production.

The environment in which we work has a huge affect on the quality of work produced. For us, this means having two separate climate-controlled spaces to accommodate for spikes in heat and humidity. It means separating our high-end detailing services to prevent contamination in film and coating applications. Our Downtown Orlando studio is 5,600 sq. ft. of air conditioned space with 2,500 sq. ft. dedicated to clean PPF and coating applications.
We have an indoor wash bay with warm and deionized water. We utilize Rupes machines, LED overhead lighting, and Scangrip/LED portable lighting. We have a 4-post lift, scissor lift, and QuickJacks portable car lifts. Our spaces are separately outfitted with right LED lighting for the specific work being performed. We have CCTV security cameras inside and out, with 24-hr armed on-property security monitoring.
